WHAT TO DO AFTER A GOOD FRIEND HAS TOE SURGERY-PRANK 'EM, OF COURSE!!

Shirley and I are sisters and best friends, Miss Betts and Doris are our sisters in Christ and also our best friends. We always have a great time when we get together which is at Bible studies and maybe lunch a couple of times a month if we are lucky. Each of us has a full plate with our separate lives with family and activities but we know prayers are always going up for each other. Sometimes when my spirit has been down a card arrives just at the right time with  a note reminding me that one of them is thinking of me and praying for me.

Several weeks ago Shirley joined our ranks of widowhood when her husband, Larry, passed away so that adds another commonality.

Betty and Doris have had months of health issues [for Betty it has been years] but they are like the Energizer Bunny, they just keep going and going. It seems Doris follows Betty with each issue-the last one being their toe surgeries just a couple of weeks apart-on the same toe. I didn't realize how serious a sore toe could become but Betty was threatened with infection even into the bone and was in pain all the time with it-as was Doris.

When Betty came out of surgery her son texted that at least now she had a straight toe so she was dubbed-Princess Straight Toe. We visited with her the day after her surgery, Shirley made a fruit salad and we had a little fun at her expense but a few weeks later, after Doris' surgery and they were both kind of mobile, we were getting together at Doris' house for lunch. Shirley and I would bring everything so those two wouldn't have to do anything.

A couple of days before Shirley and I were planning the lunch and as per usual  the plans just kind of got out of hand and more ridiculous the longer we talked until we were laughing hysterically at what we were planning for the princess and the queen. It just so happened I had bought years ago, [really cheap of course after Halloween] a foot ice mold. Everyone needs one just in case you have a friend who has toe surgery and miracle of miracles I found it in all my mess of moving and not having things organized yet.

Here is the result of all our hard work:

As you can see, we had a great, great time. It is a blessing to have such good friends.

May God bless and keep you and all of yours
